I have tried cleaning the jacks and the switch with a bit of deoxit, and it doesn't make any difference.Īlso jiggling the cable doesn't make any difference, the treble gain stays exactly the same if the return is plugged in. No difference if I push the +4/-10db switch in or out when experimenting with just the cable from send to return, it's exactly the same in either case. I say approximately, it's still sounds a bit brighter (fizzier) than it should be, not a ton, but a bit. I can EQ it pretty much out by reducing the presence to about 1/2 of what it is before the FX loop is plugged in, then it sounds approximately the same as if I unplug the (return) cable and turn the presence up again. Pull out the return and it sounds 'normal', plug it back in, treble increase. When I plug the jumper cable into the send, nothing changes, it sounds exactly the same, but as soon as I plug the cable into the return, there is the treble increase. It seem to be related to the return jack. This happens whether I plug an effect in (reverb or delay), or even if I just jump the send to the return with a simple cable. Bass and Midrange do not change, gain does not change, volume does not change, but the treble goes way up, sort of as if I cranked the presence all the way. Basically the treble increases a significant amount. When I plug *anything* into the loop, the tone changes drastically. I have a 20 DSL 50, I seem to have a problem with the FX loop.
